Students seldom get the opportunity to study history out of the classroom but our range of outdoor history resources gives teachers the ability to deliver active and cooperative learning as part of their history curriculum.

Included in our resources is a range of timelines from different periods in British and world history covering Ancient Greeks, Romans, Anglo-Saxons, Vikings, Victorians, WW2 and history during living memory. These boards give students the challenge to work in small groups or pairs to complete a blank timeline of your chosen period where they will need to write down the major events and their dates in the correct chronological order. All you need to do is provide them with the historical resources from which they can gather their evidence.

In addition, our Who Am I? boards give pupils the chance to put together evidence from what they have learned about specific historical characters. This includes everything from creating a birth to death timeline, facial portrait drawing and a range of information that puts the character into historical context.

These resources are a great way to give pupils enjoyable outdoor history activities that will engage reluctant learners and inspire those that require a greater challenge.

As part of our Switch range, all these boards are interchangeable and can be taken down and stored when not in use.
