Developing an active play-based learning environment is important for any school. Children should have access to many different ways of representing their thoughts and feelings. Some will choose music, dance or song, others will prefer to tell stories through role-play, drama or using small world resources, but most will at some point be drawn naturally to representing their ideals graphically.
The ESP Art and Design range offers children the opportunity to explore with their senses whilst improving dexterity. Sometimes art comes from the pure physical enjoyment of the activity, the glide of markers over a smooth dry wipe board or the grating of chalk across a bumpy chalkboard. Access to a range of textured surfaces allows children to experiment with different materials and develop those fine motor skills many children do not possess.
