ESP Case Study

Ivy Road Primary School – Gateshead

A Play Tower that is Fun, Exciting and Challenging for Children aged 3-5 year old. At Ivy Road Primary School, we transformed an unused area of grass at the school into a challenging bespoke play tower. It has been designed to challenge key skills, such as grip, balance, crawling and role-play.

Outdoor space before development

The play equipment needed to challenge skills such as going under and under, grip, crawling, footwork balance and general role play and imagination.

School: Ivy Road Primary School

Location: Gateshead, Tyne & Wear

Background

Ivy Road Primary School, located in Gateshead, contacted ESP along with three other companies, as they wanted to improve a grass area within their EYFS outdoor space.

This was a blank grass space that wasn’t being used for any play value and the school decided that some new outdoor play equipment would fit the area perfectly.

The Project

At the meeting, with our Local Regional Manager for the area, the EYFS team and the Site Manager were very clear on what the wanted with the new playground equipment.

It was decided that a Play Tower met the criteria of the brief provided.  ESP designed a bespoke solution to specifically meet the needs and objectives of the school and submitted it in time for the Governing body to decide on which proposal would be successful.

Much to our delighted ESP was successful and the installation took place within two weeks of the order being placed.  After two days on site the work was completed in full and the school along with the EYFS team are delighted.
