When Gareth Allen, the Headteacher of Banks St Stephen’s CE Primary School, had an outdoor project at his school he searched on Google for a local company that could help. He came across the website for ESP Play and spoke to a member of the team via LiveChat. He explained that the PTA had raised some money and that he was keen to use it to improve the KS1 Playground. The current playground only had a couple of existing markings and there was no equipment for the children to engage with, so he knew they would really benefit from some climbing equipment.
The children did use the existing markings so we wanted to make sure we avoided them and we found the perfect blank space to put some new equipment in. To start with, Gareth had wanted a play tower but after some discussion and a flick through our brochure, he soon decided that the Tree Trail Coppice would be perfect. The Coppice is a low level piece of equipment that does not require any safety surfacing, therefore, it wouldn’t take away needless money from the 5k budget. It could also be installed in one phase, whereas a play tower would have had to be split across two phases due to the cost and need for surfacing as the budget wouldn’t cover it.
From making his initial contact with ESP Play at the end of November, the order being placed in December and the installation being complete in January, it was less than two months, the installation itself only taking one and a half days.
On completion of the project, Gareth was contacted by a member of the team and asked two questions; Would you use ESP Play for future projects? And Would you recommend ESP Play to other schools? Gareth’s response was “It is a resounding YES to both questions.” Another very happy customer!
