Newham Borough Council were the first to pilot the ESP Multi-skills Playground Champions Scheme and associated CPD support for 25 schools across the Borough. The playground markings have been strategically placed in the quadrants of Newham to ensure access for all children and support Extended Services clusters in working together to deliver innovative extended school provision.

One of the key aims of the scheme is to raise the awareness of teachers, coaches, parents and support workers in terms of the needs of children with disabilities and empower them to be able to support, motivate and inspire all children.
