The maths/alpha traversing wall is an excellent piece of playground equipment that brings physical activity into the outdoor curriculum and has be proven to be a great way to combine physical activity with numeracy development. Small dry wipe boards are positioned next to the handgrips that allow the traversing wall to have learning objectives. The difficulty of the equation can be linked to the difficulty of the next grip. This activity is a fantastic way to test physical and mental abilities along with developing strong leadership skills and team work.
