Rachel Hall, Headteacher of Newton Hill Primary in Wakefield, decided before Christmas to work with ESP in developing part of her playground.  The first phase of the playground development before Christmas saw the addition of traversing walls, a series of bright targets boards, seating areas and sports equipment for basketball.

The second phase that took place this year has seen a new adventure trim trail installed within the key stage one playground and a story telling area.  The low level trim trail is now providing lots of fun and adventure at breaktimes and lunchtimes and even before and after school. The story telling chair was identified as the perfect ingredient to install imagination, creativity as well as an outdoor classroom facility for the teachers.

These pieces of playground equipment have certainly had a big impact at the school and have now inspired the school to continue developing their outdoor provision. The school and ESP are now actively working together to secure some extra funding to continue this great work.
