Eureka – Innovative Science Playground Equipment is Launched By ESP

Science for the PlaygroundESP have designed a brand new science range of playground equipment for the playground. This playground equipment range is fully supported by accredited professional development for teachers and following a series of successful pilots is proving to be a big hit in Primary and Secondary schools. ESP once again are leading the way in taking learning outdoors through innovative playground equipment.

Today see’s the official launch of our brand new Science Range and the Design Team couldn’t be more excited! After spending months in consultations with schools throughout the UK our designers have been putting the finishing touches to the prototypes for this playground equipment range. We were thrilled to see children of all ages from a local school, St Leonards’ Primary School in Padiham, using and enjoying the range as part of our trial day that took place last Thursday.

It was great to see the children exploring the range and working out how to use the pieces independently, it was even more pleasing to see the children using the science playground equipment in a lesson format. Pupils were completely engaged throughout the lesson and at the end of it had only good things to say about the experience.

Designed to promote a creative Curriculum, our Science Range allows children to experiment with measuring, understand the weather, grow and observe plants and record their findings in new and unique ways.

Science for the PlaygroundConsisting of 9 different pieces of playground equipment – it provides a well rounded aid to the Curriculum and encourages an innovative approach to learning in an outdoor environment. The range features fantastic pieces such as a Discovery Planter, designed specially to let children observe the growth of plants and the development of their roots in line with learning outcomes, a Weather Station that is great for using independently during playtime or as part of the Curriculum, that encourages children to take note of the world around them and make a record of what they see and an Outdoor Graph which allows children to create a graph from research carried out and helps them to develop their critical thinking skills.

Providing a strong Science Curriculum helps children not only to develop their critical thinking skills, but gives them a strong sense of curiosity about the world around them and a good understanding of how things work and why. It gives them the knowledge they need to devise their own experiments and investigations, observe and analyse their findings and draw conclusions from any results they record, helping to develop their self-esteem, increased confidence and providing improved attainment.

Our new designs really bring the exciting world of Science to life and we are looking forward to seeing them in more schools across the country.
